In this class we are going to play with a little hocus pocus of years gone by and create special kit for strange and unusual collections. The kit will be highly personalized, using found objects and the process of assemblage you will not only modify the case but also the items inside. Perhaps you’re a vampire hunter and you need a special case for that…or maybe you’re a Sherlock Holmes fanatic and you need a place to keep all your investigative items…or maybe you’re a part time wizard and you need a place for potions and spells. The sky is the limit…and beyond. In one instance I created a kit for artists who also happen to be vampire hunters...you never can be too careful. In this class you will learn a variety of methods of modifying and repurposing items through the process of assemblage and mixed media. After the construction portion of the class you will use paint to patina, alter and merge the various objects. Hurry, hurry step right up and enter a land of the wondrous and strange. Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):
