Description Artists will learn to fine tune organic material and make a reusable mold, create granulation specifically for metal clay, make a hidden bail. They will then polish and patina. Students should bring their chosen suspension method, 2mm diameter, leather or rubber cord or 2mm silver chain. The one in the photograph is a popcorn chain.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

  • $50.00 includes:
  • Silver metal clay
  • fine silver wire
  • molding material
  • LiL BeLLA humidifier
  • work surface
  • Teflon sheet
  • small stainless bowl
  • small watchmaker's brush for sandings
  • straws
  • patina materials
  • firing services
  • butane and other consumables
  • Assorted materials for class enhancement

Instructor Provided (for use in-class, and to share):

  • Torches and Dremel tools to share for use, there will also be some extra tools to use in case anyone forgets theirs. Wire cutters and heavy tweezers for use
  • lubricant to use for textures if needed

Student should bring:

  • task lamp
  • magnifiers
  • fine bent-nose pliers
  • emery board
  • Bark or other organic item (Keep in mind finished piece is about 2 1/2 inches by 3/4 with normal pendant depth)
