Prerequisite: None

Yes, this class is all about crackles: large, small, opaque, transparent, flexible, thick and thin and even the illusion of crackles. You will learn about many crackle products through hands on applications and see samples of a few that are more time intensive than we can cover in one day. You will learn which products to use when you want to cover and color, and which to use when you wish to see through the crackles. You will learn how to create clear crackle transfers and collage papers with real crackles. You will learn about archival crackles and which crackles to use on rigid or flexible surfaces. And of course you will take away a beautiful painting, or two. We will work with colors, composition, transfers and layers. You will learn the tricks to layering color onto your crackled surface and I will show you some processes to continue layering on your paintings when you get home. We will go over final finishes to protect your crackled paintings for many years.
