Fabulous Photoshop - An Introduction to Digital Collage

Ever wanted to know how to achieve that deep, dreamy layered look for your own digital creations? Then this is the class for you. We will take the mystery out of “Layers” and learn how to build a digital sandwich of images and elements that interact with each other to produce a deep and textured collage.
Using “Masks” we will explore the world of non-destructive editing so that during each step of the process of your digital creation you can edit and re-adjust without having to start all over again.

Topics covered will include working with layers, blending modes layer adjustments and layer masks. We will also work with filters, layer effects and get playful with the Type tool.

Supplies Provided by the Instructor: All working digital files needed to complete each project, including samples and stock images, vintage ephemera and texture files.

Materials Fee: $5 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Booklet of the class PDFs
CD with electronic files

Student Should Bring:
Laptop computer (WIN or MAC) with a mouse and a Wacom tablet if you have one.
Long Extension cord
Software – Photoshop CS5 or higher OR Photoshop Elements 8 or higher is required

Optional: A selection of your own images or photos to work on.

NOTE: You can download 30 day trial versions of the software from Adobe if you do not already own the software.
