In this class you will learn how to collage your pieces and make them cohesive. I will show you how to use things like, molding paste, lace, kids stick on tattoos to build layers into your paintings. This kind of art is meant to be touched! You will learn how to draw pretty girls and listen to the story “they” want to tell you. I will teach several easy techniques that will help you draw a face so even the newest artist has nothing to fear. We will be brave with COLOR and paint. We will color outside the lines and some of the art will push us to listen to our hearts and work intuitively.

Instructor will provide:
White tissue paper
Sandpaper
Gesso
Molding paste
My hoard of old book pages and extra papers for collaging
Extra paints
Some stamps and stencils
Matte medium
Templates of faces and girls for those who want copies or want to cut them out and use them to work from rather than drawing. (This works better with newer artist who worry about trying to learn to draw and collage at the same time)

Students should bring:
Pencil and good eraser
Small ruler
Scissors to cut small pieces out with
White and Black Gel pens (I prefer the Signo um-153 because it writes on anything) you can use gelly roll also.
Pages from old books, pretty scrapbook paper, copies of old letters or vintage paper, scraps of fabric or lace, tissue paper any color, tags, postcards - Anything you might want to collage onto the background of your painting.
Stamps and permanent ink. You only need one or two - look for small flowers, text, and music notes
Kids rub on tattoos or rub-on stickers. I look for things with flowers, butterflys and even just swirls.
Baby wipes (you only need a few so travel size would be plenty)
Old credit card or hotel room keys to get your collage flat and pull out the air bubbles
1 gessoed art board 11X14 or 12X16 depending how big you want to work. (You can bring more than one if you want)
Acrylic paint- any kind of hobby paint will work. Flesh, white, buff, black, red, and 4 or 5 of your favorites colors
Paint brushes: one or two good ones for fine lines and small areas, medium flat and a larger flat for washes and covering larger areas.
Extra things you might want to bring if you have room - colored pencils, markers, acrylic inks, glitter, tracing paper, small jewelry bits or stones, stencils, mica flakes, heat gun to speed up the drying.
