Brave He{ART} 9:00 - 4:30 Tuesday, August 11th Diane Cook $145
Student Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Type of Workshop: Project
Prerequisite: None
Making art is not for the faint of heart. It requires exposing ourselves in a most unique way. It beckons for us to be brave and totally honest with what’s inside our hearts. In this class I will share my style of creatively designing and assembling a Repoussé heart with wings. What exactly is Repoussé, you might ask? The name Repoussé is derived from the French word pousser, “to push forward”. It has been described as a method of decorating metals, in which parts of the design are raised in relief from the back or the inside of the article, by means of hammers and punches. So, on this day we will do just that….cut and move metal. We’ll also explore several of my favorite patina options, which includes using a small torch to produce unique and vibrant colors onto the metal. We will add texture to the metal using metal stamps, texture hammers, punches and chisels.
So, how about it? Want to flex your muscles, and learn just what’s inside your very own brave he{art}? See you in classroom!Materials Fee:$15 includes the following supplies and use of tools provided by the teacher:
