Learn the fundamentals of soldering Argentium Silver and Sterling Silver metals with expert Janet Alexander who has over 40 years of experience in soldering. In this class you will make a wide flared band ring with your choice of spinner. Learn about the pros and cons of working in Argentium metal, annealing processes, solder types, sizing a ring, creating a spinner for the ring, flaring techniques, using a torch, and fast finishing techniques to save time.
 
Supplies provided by teacher: solder board and setups, flat nosed pliers, ring gauges, solder shears, table protection, extension cords, rawhide mallet, electric plug strips, ring mandrels, texture hammers, small brush, Argentium hard solder, Argentium medium solder, Argentium easy solder, dapping tools and block, ring bending pliers, anvils, brass hammer, copper tongs, cookie sheet (for each soldering station), bench pins and clamps, paper towels, rawhide/plastic mallets, torches, pickle pot, scissors, pickle solution, self–locking tweezers and third hand, fire extinguisher, water, liver of sulfur bowl, cup warmer, needle nose pliers, large garbage bag, Handy flux, yellow flux, flex shafts, solder pick, square, ruler, soldering tripod, tweezers, bur wax, annealed steel wire, bench vise, paper, torch fuel, ball peen hammers, and steel sheets for table.
