Many jewelry artists’ adventures began like Susan’s when she saw an unaffordable necklace and thought, I could make that!” Thus her journey began to develop the skills, stitches and craftsmanship to create meaningful jewelry. Susan’s background in graphics and industrial design has meshed with jewelry techniques to create a unique blend of materials and traditional approaches.
Susan sells her jewelry at craft and gallery shows in the San Diego area. She has a custom line of jewelry at Stone Brewery and is featured in the gallery section of Marcia DeCoster’s Beaded Opulence beadweaving master class book. Susan’s Impending Bloom necklace is featured in Lark Books 500 Beaded Jewelry. Susan was a finalist in both 2010 and 2013 Bead Dreams design competition. Susan will be featured in Marcia DeCoster Presents in 2014, highlighting her work of upcoming bead artists. When teaching jewelry classes, Susan always encourages her students to find their own unique looks and create their own styles.
