No more sepia and aged linen for your vintage photos! Let’s take those special memories and create mixed media collages that POP with bright and vibrant colors bringing them right into a new modern vibe. In this class we’ll create 4 collages that tell the stories of someone you cherish. Chris will share all of her favorite mixed media techniques, collaborate with you in choosing a terrific color scheme, and give you inside tips on design elements. Remember, you can bring many generations together in your compositions, so choose your photos and start thinking of your stories!

Students should bring:

2- 8x10 Canson art boards and 2- 8x10 or 11x14 canvas boards. If students prefer they may email the instructor to purchase these boards (3 weeks advance notice) for a fee of $12 for the 4 required boards.

Please select vintage photos and ephemera (letters, tickets from events, old telegrams, etc.) from your personal collection and make toner based COLOR copies of them in several sizes for class use. The instructor will NOT have photos to use...

a small zip lock back of patterned papers of your choice

a small pair of SHARP scissors or an exacto knife and cutting surface MUST be brought by each student.

all other materials will be provided by the instructor

Samples of Gel Medium and paints will be provided compliments of Golden Artist Colors, Inc.
