Paper Meets Clay

    Art retreats are the perfect place to try something new. If you have not had the opportunity to work with paper clay, now is your chance. Paper clay is a very versatile art supply. It air dries, is paintable and is very light weight. Students will create a 10" x 10" paper collage with any theme they want. Added to the collage will be small (so they can dry and be painted) paper clay embellishments. This is a fun class with a new supply, and techniques to learn. The finished project can be easily packed into a suitcase.

    Materials fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
  • 10" x 10" wood panel
  • 1/2 package of paper clay
  • clay tool
  • image sheet
  • word sheet
    and use of Instructor's:
  • background paper
  • rubber stamps
  • ink paint
Students should bring:
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • ruler
  • craft knife
  • water container
  • images and paper
  • favorite flat collage supplies

    Optional:
  • xyron machine
  • paint brushes
