Feather Weights

Create highly fashionable, extra large earrings* with the look of silver and ULTRA light weight. The feather and leaf will be our inspiration for these textured & formed earrings made of aluminum.
Using natural leaves or feathers to print the texture, students will learn how to anneal aluminum, will be shown roller printing and other ways to texture metal. Saw, fold, form & shape, drill or punch holes and burnish finishing to go home with completed pairs of dangle earrings.. *You can choose to make smaller earrings if you prefer.
Materials fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes:- Aluminum
- sheet form
- leaves to roller print
- sterling ear wires, 2 pair
and for use in class:- saws frames & blades
- rolling mill
- flex shaft
- drill bits
- polishing lathe
- abrasives
- leather mallets
- wood forms/ stump
- steel burnishers
Students should bring:- bench pin & clamp
Optional if you don't want to wait to share:- curved burnisher
- small files
- jewelers saw frame & 3/0 blades
- french shears or similar metal cutting shears
- hole punch pliers or #56 drill bit ( or close)
- hand tools ( pliers, files, mallets, abrasives)
- center punch
- bench block
- personal light & optivisor
