Embossing with Rubber Stamps
Wednesday Eve 6:30 - 9:30 $65 Marilyn Weyman Kegg
Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
Prerequistes: None
Have you ever wished you could emboss with one of your rubber stamps? It just might be possible. Depending on the stamp, it could work! Bring mounted or unmounted **deeply etched** rubber stamps to class and we will see how they work as embossing tools. Clear stamps are not suitable for this process. You will be able to make multiple plates during the class and will leave with three or more resin embossing plates, one mold, some samples, and plenty of ideas for where to go from here. This is a class you can come to with just your apron!
Materials fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Latex gloves
Quick curing resin
Mold putty
Mixing cups and sticks
Petroleum jelly
Masking tape
Various papers for samples
and the use of:Embossing machines
Students should bring:Apron or other covering to save your clothes
Optional:If you have an acrylic stamp mounting block, bring it 3” x 5” or larger
Several deeply etched rubber stamps. Photo stamps and those that are not deeply etched will not work for this process. If you are flying, just bring 2 or 3 stamps or plan to work from the many stamps I will bring along.
An embossing machine IF you have one that is easily transported. Also bring the plates and pads that come with it. I will have some to use in class.
