    Using my helpful new line of Color Wheel Stencils we will create color-full art journal pages that explore all the basics of using the color wheel to come up with lovely combinations of hues. The variety of different color wheels allows us to play with Analogous, Complementary, Split Complementary, Triad, Tetrad and Neutral color combinations along with techniques for using Caran d’ache Neo ll water-soluble crayons. This is a process class where you can make as many pages as you like and then bind them together however you like when you get home so you can keep this information as not only a cool little journal but a handy reference tool. So come and spend a fun evening with your ‘grown up’ crayons and let’s play with color!

    Materials fee of $5 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
  • Fantastix blending tool
  • sponges
  • baby wipes
    • and use of:
  • stencils

    • Students should bring:
  • 1 22 x 30” sheet of 140lb hot press watercolor paper torn into 16 5 ½ x 7 ½ “ pages (please tear before class) or other roughly 5x7 watercolor paper (16 sheets)
  • Paint brush (I suggest a #8 round)
  • Water container
  • Gray Paint palette suggested or other
  • mechanical type pencil
  • black S Pitt Artist Pen
  • paper towels
  • Caran d’ache Neo ll water soluble crayons in the following colors:
    • #193 Bismuth Green
    • #070 Scarlet
    • #001 White
    • #010 Yellow
    • #230 Yellow Green
    • #130 Royal Blue
    • #100 Purple Violet
    • #350 Purplish Red
    • #030 Orange
    • #031 Orange Yellow
    • #040 Reddish Orange
    • #200 Blue Green
    • #260 Blue
    • #009 Black
  • (NOTE: you may substitute colors you already have that are close to these colors)
