Learn how to create a layered effect that combines pattern and tone for a complex surface design. The techniques taught can be used to cover and embellish a myriad of surfaces including journal covers, containers, and much more. Students will learn how to create the instructor’s technique for a textile effect using patterned texture sheet and multiple colors of polymer clay. This will be followed by the method for accenting the surface with a patterned overlay with inks or metallic powders for a subtle overlay effect. As a bonus, Lisa will demonstrate how to create permanently inked sentiments on clay that can be added as additional embellishment. Participants will use their patterned sheet of clay to cover their choice of a small, heart-shaped tin or business card holder.
