This art journal that is as much a work of art as what you will create in it. Using copper sheet metal, a couple of candy tins, some brass hinges, and a clever variation of my all metal book binding technique, students will learn how to fabricate this over-sized (11.5" wide x 7.5" tall) all-metal art journal. Then, alter the surface of the metal with colorful patinas and some wild torching techniques and attach tins and pockets to the cover for storing your art supplies and/or tools. Adorn with found objects and chains, beads, charms, and what ever else you can imagine to make this book your ultimate creation! Add a decorative handle to carry it with and off you go! Decorate your paper beforehand, or leave it blank for future journaling adventures.
