Textured Circles

Sharpen your basic metalsmithing skills by learning to cut, dap and dome circle discs. Add texture and repousse using a new rolling mill. During this 3-hour class you will play with various texture plates, hone your dapping and doming skills, learn about patinas and finish one linked circle bracelet and a pair of earrings.
Materials/Kit Fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- 22-gauge brass sheet metal
- 22-gauge nickel silver sheet metal
- bronze wire
- brass jump rings
- patina
- use of rolling mill
- texture plates to use
- use of instructor tools such a dapping blocks and disc cutter
Students should bring:
- ball peen hammer
- steel bench block
- needle nose pliers
- flat nose pliers
- round nose pliers
- wire snips
- file
- hole punch pliers
- fine steel wool or green kitchen scrubbie
- baby wipes
Note: If you want to make your jewelry in sterling silver, you'll need to bring a 3-inch by 3-inch sheet of 24-gauge sterling, available at local jewelry supply stores or online at Rio Grande. Be sure to also bring 10 mm sterling jump rings.
