During this full day exploration of resin we will explore new techniques incorporating wire into your resin work or resin into your wirework. Starting with wire forms students will learn the ins and out of working with resin to create textures, color, add found objects and paper, and a variety of other unique uses of resin. As we expand on the concept of resin, students will be encouraged to bring their ideas of how they would like to introduce resin and wire into their work. We will go over these ideas and develop strategies. Finishing skills, essential in working with resin.

Kit Fee of $30 payable to Instructor at class time includes:

  • Two-part resin for use in class
  • a variety of elements including
    • papers
    • transfers
    • colors
    • additives
    • charms
  • all wire, including steel wire, brass and copper
  • finishing rivets and grommets 

Supplies Provided by Instructor for shared use in class: All misc tools and supplies needeD

Students should bring:

  • parchment paper
  • baby wipes
  • scissors
  • something to take pieces home on – a flat tray is perfect

    Optional:
  • wire working tools (I will have some available for use in class but if you don’t want to share, bring:
    • round nose pliers
    • flat nose pliers
    • heavy duty wire cutters
  • any papers, charms or trinkets you would like to work into your designs.
