Laurie Mika is an artist, author and instructor. Laurie’s background is in painting, however, over the years, she has developed an original and easily recognizable style utilizing handmade polymer clay tiles to create mixed media mosaics. She has been teaching these techniques at nationally known retreats and independent venues since 2004. Internationally, Laurie has taught workshops in Mexico, Europe, Australia and Israel.
Laurie’s work has been published in numerous magazines and books. Laurie has appeared on both HGTV’s, That’s Clever and on DIY’s, Craft Lab. Her own book, Mixed Media Mosaics, was published in 2007. Closer to home, in southern California, Laurie participates in juried exhibitions and has her work in galleries and private collections.
