Student Level: Beginner to Intermediate. Some experience with a jeweler's saw and torch soldering helpful.

There is something incredibly appealing about the curved cylindrical form of a tiny tube. We will use copper pipe, recycled bullet casings, small hobby tubing, and other cylinders to create unique jewelry pieces and parts. Learn to cut, finish, drill, solder, cap, and cold connect tubes to other jewelry components and complete one or more pieces in the class.
Kit Fee of $18 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- copper pipe
- bullet casings
- hobby tubing
- 24 ga metal sheet
- 18 and 20 gauge copper wire
- mica
Instructor will provide:
- tube cutters
- drills
- patina solution
- texture hammers
- hole punches
- disc cutters
- dapping block
- torches
- fuel
- flux
- solder
- fire bricks
- vise
- pickle solution and crock pot
Students should bring:
- Ball Peen Hammer
- Chasing Hammer
- Round nose pliers
- Flat nose or chain nose pliers
- Flush cutters
- Bench block or anvil and cushion (or heavy hand towel)
- Ruler
- Fine point Sharpie marker
- Jeweler’s saw and bench pin and 2/0 or 3/0 blades
- An assortment of small beads, pearls, and tiny found objects to be used as possible dangles from or enclosures in the “pipes”
