This workshop will give you the opportunity to use a ‘real’ etching press and experience the excitement of using stencils and masks to make gorgeous background papers and original pieces of art. I will demonstrate ‘multiple drops’ on the press, but be prepared to jump right in and play. Bring your own stencils and masks if you wish or cut your own in the workshop. Chine colle is a printmaking technique similar to collage, so bring your favorite images to use in a new way. This will be a fast paced class so be prepared to leave your inner critic at the door. I will be posting examples of stencils and masks with examples on a regular basis before class, so look for updates.
