Photoshop for Mixed Media - Intermediate Wednesday 6:30 - 9:30 $70 Tangie Baxter
Student Level: Intermediate - must have good working knowledge of computers and basic understanding of Photoshop OR have taken my Beginners Basics class the day before.
Type of Workshop: Process
Do you have an idea what Photoshop can do for you, but not sure how to apply it to your mixed-media projects or would you like to become a better digital artist? You’ve come to the right place! We will be learning composition and how to create digital collages using some of Photoshop’s most amazing (and often overlooked) features. We will thoroughly cover layers and how to use them to their fullest potential, groups, layer masks, clipping masks, cloning, duplicating documents, basic adjustment layers, using brushes, basic shadowing, basic typography and more. You will watch me create a digital collage in class from scratch and have all the same images in your take home materials to build the same one over and over again until you have mastered the skills to create your own! My Photoshop classes are unique because they are geared towards the mixed-media artist instead of the photographer.
Kit Fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes the following:
You may bring a laptop (with Photoshop) with you so you can follow along in class, but this is OPTIONAL. I find that the students that just watch me as we cover the material are much more successful in the long run than the students trying to keep up on the laptop in class (you miss so much!). You really do have everything you need in my extensive handouts to practice in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace.
If you do not currently have Photoshop you can download a free 30 day trial from the Adobe Photoshop website. Please note that I will share with you in class how to order discounted copies of the software through academic superstores if you are, or have a student in your home.
Classes will be taught on a PC but MAC shortcuts/instructions will be given throughout.
