Knife Painted Walls Friday 9 - 4:30 $145 Mary Beth Shaw
Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
Give your brushes a rest and grab a knife - palette knife, that is! In this class we will use a variety of palette knives and scraping tools to create a fabulous mixed media painting. We will start out by putting down an interesting textured background. Then we will play with mixing paint directly on our substrate and pulling and pushing the paint to achieve different effects. We will use a variety of tools to achieve different effects and layers will be concealed and revealed as we progress. After glazing the pieces for additional depth, we will carve sections of paint out of our pieces to add an extra design element. Our final paintings will resemble extreme peeling paint walls (think of that amazing wall in The Kings Speech).
