JigSaw Mono-Prints to Jewelry Thursday and Friday $290 Thomas Mann 9 - 4:30
Student Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Must know how to use a jeweler's saw
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
In this two day class participants will have the opportunity to apply the techniques of sawing, chasing, etching, cold connecting and print making. Learn basic etching and chasing techniques to make "jigsaw puzzle" monoprints. You'll then use cold connecting techniques to turn your jigsaw “plates” into a wearable piece of art that can be mounted on a display wallpiece that you’ll also make — three pieces in one workshop! This workshop was inspired by the La Fleur series that Tom created while visiting his sculptor/printmaker friends in France. The printmaking portion of the workshop is also featured in his new book by Northlight Books, The Metal Artist’s Workbench: Demystifying the Jeweler’s Saw.
