Finding Your Path Friday 9 - 4:30 and continued on $290 Daniel Carrel Sunday 9 - 4:30
Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
This is a 2 day workshop.
This two day painting class will explore abstract painting techniques that support the idea that Art follows nature. Nature will be our inspiration for creating powerful images that are universally understood. We will explore how our very basic and complex emotions can be triggered by shape, color, line and texture. You will also find working and philosophic techniques that will create the ability to go beyond just copying someone else’s techniques but creating your own unique powerful visual path. The class is centered on finding a new direction in your art through understanding how unique you are and tailoring art techniques and approaches that fit your learning and thinking style, personality and even spiritual quest in life.
You will be given fun, quick and effective contemporary learning style/ thinking style tests along with interactive games and meditations developed from ancient times. These fun and profound exercises will help you create a personal visual profile that inspires exciting new directions in your art and life. You will come out of this class knowing that your art is a mirror that reflects who you are, what your searching for and a chance to share your true powerful identity with community.
I will introduce new cutting edge techniques in painting technology. I also mirror techniques and ancient approaches /philosophies that have all but been lost. You will be given conscious access to a visual alphabet that is used subconsciously by your brain to create our visual world.
We also will explore and simplify the rules of composition along with knowing how to break them for more power in your work.
