Amulets for Peace Thursday 6:30 - 9:30 $70 Melissa Manley
Student Level: Beginner
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
Using discarded brass bullet casings we will make a beautiful amulet to make into a necklace or other artwork. Another little bullet casing forms a cap for you to trap your most secret wishes and prayers. You’ll learn to etch patterns onto the brass. I will explain etching and show you the materials I use. Then after you etch yours, I’ll show you how I drilled and decorated my little vials so that you can create a fabulous necklace. You will definitely create one amulet, but I will have other casings available as well if you are able to make more to finish off at home. This will be a great class for beginners and a fun simple way to learn to etch. What better way to repurpose a spent bullet casing than making a beautiful little amulet? The ultimate upcycling!"
