Angie Platten


 

Angie’s first experience teaching was at age 13 when she began teaching art and crafts to children through church programs. She continued teaching and has organized many children’s programs at church as well as working with inner city kids. In 2007, she began teaching a women’s weekly class focusing on meditation, journaling, and art as an expression which she taught for two years. This really developed her love for teaching adults for the first time. Angie is primarily a self taught artist, although she has taken many classes over the past several years. She teaches private art lesson in her home studio as well as at local stores and she teaches art to home school students during the school year. Angie thoroughly enjoys the creative process and especially loves participating in it with others. She has taught at Art Unraveled for the past three years as well as CREATE Retreat in Costa Mesa, 2011. Angie has had her work published in Quilting Arts Magazine , Pasticcio Zine, and “1000 Handmade Greeting Cards”. Angie resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her two sons and three cats.
