Transfer fine lines, text, hand drawings and more onto metal with perfection. UV resist is a new idea for those of you who have etched in the past or are interested in etching but would like help with resists. This resist will work for any type of chemical or electrical etching process for metal. It is a durable resist that will not flake off during etching and allows for fine lines and detail like no other method. Transparencies are used to transfer this film onto sheet metal prior to etching. We will be working in a room without UV light to transfer your favorite images onto copper sheet. Bring your own designs to use and share. We will have plenty of designs for all to use. Either side of the transparency can be used, which makes it a nice option for etching texture plates where you want the design to be in reverse. You will leave class with a pile of prepared copper pieces ready to etch for another class or to save for a later time. Kit Fee of $35 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Copper sheet and blanks, UV film, Acrylic squares and Binder clips, rubber gloves, transparencies to borrow, tape, and shared materials such as solutions and finishing supplies. UV lamps and bug lights will be shared and available after class for purchase.

- Black designs printed on clear transparency film no bigger than 2.5 inch square per design. You can bring small designs of all shapes, nothing is too small. Designs can also be hand rendered with a sharpie on the film. (Can be inkjet or laser; just make sure the black is nice and solid).
- Bring a small spray bottle to fill with distilled water
Optional: You can bring extra metal pieces such as sterling, fine silver, brass or copper in addition to pieces provided in kit. Pieces cannot be larger than 2.5 inch square
