Enjoy this enriching and inspiring metals workshop by focusing on new cutting edge ideas in metal while creating a few extraordinary pairs of earrings. Cut shapes and add color and texture to the surface of metal to play against each other. Connect with basic silver smithing, soldering and swing joins for maximum movement. Utilize the art of wire hand fabrication to create dimensional attachments. Create bends, creases and folds using the forming block, circle punch and dapping block. All levels.
Kit fee of $32 payable to Instructor at class time includes: nickel sheet metal, silver solder, 2 bronze bezels, bronze sheet metal, bronze or copper wire, mica, screws, nuts, eyelets etc.
Supply List:
- anvil
- vice
- ball peen hammer
- jewelers saw with size 02 or 03 blade, and/or tin snips
- bench pin
- round needle nose pliers
- chain nose pliers
- wire snips
- images
- small personal objects
Optional: - extra wire, drill, 1/16 drill bit, small objects, found objects, colorful tin (to cut up) paper images, text or photographs, oil pastels. Metal stamps, beads etc.
