In this workshop, students will use assemblage art methods to create and embellish a fantastic shrine housed inside of a shoe! Shrines are a wonderful way to learn the art of color, balance, texture and best of all – bringing out the things you love the most. We will be using everything from found objects, beads, glitter, charms, gems, paints, glues, pictures and papers, they will create a mini-monument to whatever their heart desires!

Kathy Cano-Murillo knows her shrines. As the author of the book Making Shadow Boxes & Shrines (2002, Rockport Publishers), she has made shrines in everything from a hat to junk drawer to a silverware tray!

Kit fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes: A variety of all kinds of shoes to choose from (high heels, platforms, loafers and others), glitter, glues, all embellishments.

Optional: bring favorite images to use on shoe, either inside or outside.
