This is a 12 hour workshop taught on two consecutive days.
Experience new ground breaking ideas in the glass world. Learn techniques for mold making, carving, and different glass variations in kiln casting. Create, carve and cast objects in glass. Build two distinct molds, the first by casting a found object, the second is hand carved to create a unique structure to cast glass into. Experiment with layering of color and transparent glass for use with text. Learn about the properties of glass, proper kiln use, tips on buying a glass kiln, safety tips and the technique of cleaning up your glass work.
*Optional Kit* fee of $35 includes: silver sheet, wire, solder, silver wire, necklace form, varity of glass, sheet metal, sandpaper, rivets, tubing, handout and expendables.
*For those students who do not wish to purchase the Optional kit, email Instructor for specific itemized list of items that you must bring to class in place of the kit.

- jewelers saw and blades, size 0 or 1
