This is a 6 hour workshop taught over two evenings.
We’re going to get the “Acrylic Crazies” in this class. We’re going to try lots of different surfaces to paint on and come up with our own personal palette of colors and materials. Paint will run, splash and flow in your hands and there will be no bad choices. We’ll create several little mini canvases as we explore texture and create dimension. We’ll use layer after layer of various acrylic mediums and incorporate some personal mementos into the works. You should come away with at least three 5”x5” works of art to hang and enjoy and lots of ideas for the next project you’ll want to try! Students will have the option to work on things to hang and take home, or treat it as an exploratory, practice session.
Materials fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes Various sheets of collage papers, Golden Acrylic Ground for Pastel, Golden Crackle Paste
Supply List:- Little mementos, photos, tickets or other things to put into paintings
- Golden Soft Gel Gloss OR Golden Regular Gel Matte
- Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid-satin
- Gesso-any brand
- Several of the Golden Liquid Acrylics in your favorite colors
- Stiff brush to use with the Golden Gel Mediums
- Soft square brush for the liquid acrylics
- 3 small canvases (5x5 and 12x12 are good sizes) (I will have some of these for sale)
- Roll of Plastic Wrap
- Paper plates for palettes
- Large water container- old food tubs
- Roll of Paper towels
- Scissors
- Apron
