Student Level:

Type of Workshop: Technique

If you are a perfectionist, you know how hard it is to work deeply and playfully. Perfectionists start with high hopes, and then get discouraged because their work is not exactly what they had imagined. Notorious procrastinators, perfectionists start 50 journals and finish none of them. This class will help you see the benefits in your perfectionism and consider shifting those aspects that are not contributing to your creative life. We’ll start by discussing the right type of journal for you, what to put on the first page, how to fix mistakes, and how to treat pages that are disappointing. You will make many journal pages, and keep the ones you like. No one will know about the rest. You will learn how to choose a journal that suits your needs, how to use your own ideas to write in and decorate your journal. No previous art experience needed. Your instructor is a creativity coach and a recovering perfectionist herself.

Materials provided by Instructor include:  Different types of papers, colored pencils, markers, tickets. Also, to share: magazines for cutting out words and images.
