    Create a unique book structure with a mica cover. We will utilize a commercially made mica product intended for lampshades. This translucent material makes for an excellent and intriguing alternative to more typical cover options. Our books will be sewn on tapes using a decorative and sturdy herring bone binding.

    Materials fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
    Mica sheets
    Text block
    Handmade paper
    Tapes
    Assortment of waxed linen thread
    Needles
    PVA glue
    Double stick tape
    Other misc. materials or tools needed to complete the project

  • Ruler
  • Awls
  • White PVA glue
  • Glue brush
  • Sturdy scissors
  • Pencils: wood, mechanical
  • White eraser
  • ¼ inch palm chisel
  • Small brayer
  • Exacto knife and blades
  • Small cutting matte
  • Thin or light weight collage materials: decorative and text papers, photos, insect wings, leafs, feathers, etc.
