Participants will learn how to raise and detail surface patterns with polymer clay using the Sutton Slice. We’ll start with monochromatic concepts and graduate to more advanced skills such as gradient and assorted color palettes. Two or more finished pieces will be created in class including at least one jewelry and one card/keepsake box. We’ll also review the type of texture plates that are suitable for this technique and which ones are not. Additionally, students will learn how to work with flatback embellishments as an optional way to enhance finished pieces. Instructional handouts will also be provided.
Kit Fee of $8 payable to Instructor at class time includes: one jewelry setting, choice of case, assorted flatback crystals and nail heads

Supply List:
- Clay dedicated pasta machine and large “C” clamp
- 6 packages of polymer clay (Pardo or Fimo Soft; all one brand – please no Sculpey III , Kato or Fimo Classic): 1 black, 1 white, and four colors of your choice
- a new/flexible clay blade (blades will be available for optional purchase before class)
- small bottle of Armor All (or STP Son-of-a-Gun) Tire/Vinyl dressing available in auto supply stores
- X-Acto type craft knife
- baby wipes
