Kate Murray has been creating all of her life. She started ballet lessons at the age of two and before she retired from dancing at the age of 29 she had been involved in numerous off-Broadway and regional productions where she was designing costumes, choreographing, and stage musical directing. She was known for her impressionistic style in dance and as well as her design-sense. Her dance kept time with art classes while she was in school. At University, she did her honors work in Art History.
Decades of corporate life and world travel took her away from her artistic life, but at the age of 50 she decided to get back to her love of the arts. She began writing again and creating collage and mixed-media pieces. She founded Vintage Charmings to support collage artist with their want of French Ephemera, she completed an MFA in Creative writing, and took classes in book making and Chinese calligraphy in France.
When her schedule allows, Kate teaches mixed-media art and calligraphy and she also has a few private clients who come to her home in France where they create art, go brocanting, eat, and learn to relax.
