This is a 9 hour workshop offered on Thursday evening and all day Friday.

A collage workshop that is about abstract storytelling.where the line functions as composition in these hidden layers. Paint canvases that spill with paint and dip pen doodles covered with layers of distressed gesso, paint and collage. Play with freestyle graffiti backgrounds.fast.free.writing words, thoughts and ideas. In the evening part of this workshop you will build textured canvases made with layers of handmade lace papers, tulle, and textured mulberry. During the day, you will be led in exercises to explore drawing images, incorporating collage, letterforms and symbols. This is a 1.5 day workshop.

Materials Fee of $15 payable to instructor at classtime includes: Collage Unleashed aRt! kit of handmade papers, collage images, printmaking kit, Inspiration guide, watercolor paints, glitter, sumi ink, tissue paper, parchment paper, doodling tools- prismacolor pencils, gel pens./markers, water-soluble crayons (Caran d'ache neo-color or portfolio)

Supplies provided by instructor include: mark making tools, gel pens/markers, unmounted stamps and stencils

Supply list:
-Favorite heavy bodied, fluid and ink acrylic colors
-Golden Molding Paste (16oz.)
-Gesso
-10-15 misc. sheets of paper (collect things you have in your house like ledger paper, sheet music, drawing, watercolor, craft paper, maps, magazines, newspapers, vellum Bristol, rosin, newsprint)
-Collage ephemera/paper scraps in various colors & textures (thin papers like tissue/napkins/crepe paper, dictionary pages, poetry/story book pages)
-15- 2-ply white paper towels (Kirkland from Costco)
-2" flat brush (hardware store brushes work great)
-1" flat paint and various paint brushes
-Trowel Palette knife
-2- 1" foam brushes
-2 water container
-Brayer
-Golden soft gel gloss (16oz.)
-Black fine tip micron or pitt pen
-Calligraphy dip pen (very fine nib)
-Black Stablio water-soluble pencil
-Drawing pencil
-Wite out correction pen
-Scissors
-Painting smock

Optional items or suggestions to enhance the class project:
-Favorite unmounted stamps/texture tools/stencils
-Iron
-Adjective bank/theme - brainstorm a list of words, quotes, and phrases
-Black & white photocopies of images/writing/line art - high contrast. TIP: enlarge symbols, letters, words on photocopy machine
-A few favorite doodling tools- prismacolor pencils, gel pens/markers, water-soluble crayons (Caran d'ache neo-color or portfolio)
