This 6-hour workshop will be presented in two 3-hour sessions, Monday & Tuesday afternoons.
Students will create a gallery quality necklace embellished with objects that have personal meaning. The necklace will consist of a beaded wire neck ring with two attached amulet pendants. These amulets will be constructed using the following materials: paper clay, wood, stone, wire, leather, beads and/or incorporating personal objects brought by students.
Students in this class will learn basic jewelry design and the following construction techniques: use of memory wire, beading, creating wire findings for use in making amulet pendants, creating with paper clay and assemblage using natural materials of wood, stone, leather, copper. Use of different types of adhesives will be discussed. Wearing your unique adornment necklace guarantees that people will stop you and say ‘Wow! that’s incredible'.
Kit fee of $5 payable to Instructors at class time includes: ALL materials to create amulet necklace. Included but not limited to: memory wire, paper clay, beads, wood, leather, wire, paints, adhesives, use of original molds and other decorative materials.
