Learn to dye silk ribbons of different widths using the arashi shibori (in Japanese this loosely translates to mean "wind driven rain") technique. This technique involves using a PVC pipe, string and dye, scrunching together and dyeing on the scrunched edges. Students will also dye torn strips of various kinds of silk, chiffon, charmeuse, dupioni, noil, and habotai.
Kit Fee of $15.00 payable to Instructor at class time includes: the silk and ribbons
Supplies provided by Instructor include: dyes, buckets, microwave, disposable plastic aprons

15" PVC pipe 2" diameter (not ABS pipe!)
crochet cotton - size 10
masking tape

2 - 1" foam brushes
