In this workshop students will follow step-by-step demos by the teacher of techniques for drawing and painting many types of doors, windows, shutters and bicycles. Students will then have plenty of time to practice these techniques. When they have finished their samples the teacher will explain how to put together a composition that is pleasing to the eye and show some examples. Students will then create pictures using either their own subject matter or reference materials and drawings supplied by the instructor.
Supplies provided by Instructor include: a handout with color mixing recipes, painting techniques and instructions and photo reference as well as sample compositions.
Supply List:
-Cotman or other brand watercolor paints in the following colors: Lemon yellow, yellow ochre, Permanent rose, sap green, thalo blue, ultramarine blue, dioxine or winsor violet and burnt sienna.
-A good quality sablette round brush like Robert Simmons Sapphire # 6
-¼” flat brush like Sceptre Gold
-An empty yogurt size container and an empty cottage cheese size container
-A roll of toilet paper now know as Artists tissue
-A #2 pencil and a soft white eraser or a kneaded eraser
-A thin tipped Micron or Nexus waterproof pen in your choice of color, I like light brown
-Any photo reference you may want to use of doors, windows, shutters and bicycles.
-Some artist masking tape
-A foam core board or cardboard you can use to support your image while painting
-Some 9x12 sheets of Arches cold pressed watercolor paper it comes in a pad or large sheets you can cut up.
-Some inexpensive sketching paper
