Create this distinctive bracelet that is stunning on its own or use it as a base to add beads or charms. Wire working, cold forging, plier jump rings, finishing techniques and tricks to designing with wire will be covered. (Cold forging is the process by which we shape metal by hammering on it.) We'll also talk about working with different wire gauges, advantages and disadvantages to the different sizes. Everyone should walk out wearing their bracelet.
Supply list:
-30" of 16 or 14 GA wire in your choice of finish (This will complete one bracelet. If you are a novice wire worker please bring more wire.)
-Round nose pliers
-Chain nose or flat nose pliers (preferably 2)
-Steel block or anvil
-Chasing or other small hammer
-Files and or cup burs (Cup burs round and finish off wire ends. These tools can be purchased at bead stores and at www.wigjig.com)I will bring some to share but if
you do not want to wait please bring your own tools
-Please note that hammering is noisy, bring ear plugs if this is a concern for you.
-Safety glasses are another great idea when you are in a room full of people cutting, hammering and bending wire.
