Learn how to make colorful collages with beeswax instead of glue and practice techniques including fusing, layering, transparency and wax stamping. Supplies will be provided for basic collages, but feel free to bring your favorite images and ephemera as well to personalize your art. Any images you bring should be on regular computer paper, the thinner the better. Glossy photos won’t work well with this process, but fabric, stencils and small 3-D object work great! Students will leave class with 2 – 3 finished collages.
Kit Fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes 3 Clayboard panels and the use of beeswax, damar resin, encaustic paint, stamps, papers, dress patterns, oil pastels, magazines, stamps, stamp pads, embellishments, heat guns, quilting irons, crock pots, brushes, paper towels, wax paper, scissors, buffing cloths, floor coverings, extension cords, surge protectors, wax collage examples.
