Wire edge binding utilizes a thin metal wire attached at the edge of each page. The metal wire is exposed at regular intervals creating areas where thread attaches one page to the next. This makes for a binding that is wonderfully flexible and versatile! By making the pages/panels of this book with heavy book board we will create a sculptural and decorative book. This book structure works well as a standing photo album or a structure on which to build and display miniature works of art.
$15 supply fee payable to instructor at class time for precut book boards, wire and threads
Supply List: Large Glue Stick, Bone Folder, Scissors, Cutting Mat, Metal Ruler (at least 12"), Optional: Small cutter, such as Fiskars, Carl, etc, for cutting your paper square. Knife with sharp blades, Clip clothes pins, Decorative paper - enough to cut ten 6" square pieces - You should have at least 2 different patterns that coordinate with each other.
