Watercolor Postcards From the Heart
Date: Thursday, August 26, 2004
Time: 6pm – 10pm
Instructor: Mabel Dean
Cost: $45

In just four hours you will get a most useful introduction to colorful watercolor painting. You'll have hands-on opportunities to practice basic techniques including two types of wash applications, color blending using various water media (pan colors, watercolor crayons and pencils). You'll be shown ways to use everyday life experiences as source material for your painting pleasure. By the end of the session you will have completed four postcard size paintings and you'll be armed with a variety of simple and effective techniques to use in your journals and handmade books, on cards and mail art, and other personal art projects. Your unique postcards will be different than the samples shown in the photo.

Come with a playful attitude and an open mind - no painting or drawing experience is required. This is a class everyone can enjoy!

Supply List :

½" flat brush and a #6 round brush (that comes to a good point) and a fine waterproof pen (such as a .08 Micron or extra fine Sharpie).  The rest of the supplies including an assortment of watercolor papers will be provided.

Watercolor art supplies and kits will be available from Mabel for those who might wish to continue watercolor techniques after the workshop ends (prices vary). The kits are optional and not required to attend the workshop.
