Learn how to turn an old, non-working wristwatch into a beautiful work of wearable art. We'll start with a watch case and found objects, add some wire, learn some winding, bending and shaping techniques and turn it all into a unique piece of jewelry.
Supply List: Students must bring one or more watch cases (the time-keeping mechanism should be removed so you have only the case as in the example); men's watches with an approximate 1 inch diameter work best, but most any size can be used. Also bring small "found objects" (small enough to fit inside the watchcase), at least one metal bottle cap, small photos, bits of text, stamps, coins, etc. Basic jewelry making tools will be needed, including round nose and flat nose pliers, wire cutter, small hammer, bench block.
