Olivia Thomas

My name is Olivia Thomas, a mixed media artist, residing in Phoenix for the last 23 years. I have studied and dabbled in all sorts of art media. My father was a terrific artist, and cartoonist, so I learned early the joy of playing with paint and crayons. But the real fun for me started when I received a sewing machine for my 13th birthday! I immediately set out to create my own wardrobe, which I am sure at 13, looked like I made it! I continued my formal education at design school, in hopes of becoming a famous dress designer only to realize this dream several years later, by designing dresses for dolls, with my folk art company, Olive Rose. I now find the creative process for me, combines paints and crayons and fabric, to experiment, and produce interesting mixed media work.I enjoy sharing my ideas and discoveries with others, with the hope that they will inspire your artistic muse.

I've recently been honored to have articles and samples of my art published in Somerset Studio, Legacy, Art Doll Quarterly and Collage for the Soul.
