Backgrounds are so important to your art work. The background often sets the mood, the color theme and the “feel” of your artistic work. And you need backgrounds whether you are doing an altered book, a collage or an artists' book.

If you took the Monoprint and Backgrounds class last year at Art Unraveled, you learned 12 new background techniques. This year we are going “on, beyond” the original 12 and making 12 completely different backgrounds.

Here's the line up: Pastels and Pellon, Gesso and Tissue, Transfers as Background, Acrylics- Gesso and Saran, The Draw of Inks, Baking Soda and Acrylics, Oil Pastels and Odorless Solvent, Heat Guns at the OK Coral, Gesso-Tissue and Glaze, Resisting the Ink, Starting with Black, and we'll finish with the fun of Mixed Media Madness.

Please come join us for a day of experiments, fun and art. You will learn process and come away with a 10 page accordian book to help you remember what you learned.
