Combine metal sheet and found objects to create layers of negative and positive space to complete an unusual wearable reliquary. Begin by building a silver frame enclosing a photograph with a versatile wire rivet. Add height and dimension by incorporating a variety of alter-native rivets such as screws and nuts and upholstery tacks. Students will complete a three dimensional pendant (or ring). This workshop works wonderfully with Exploration of Resins.
$14 kit fee is payable to instructor at class time includes- sterling silver sheet metal, brass copper, sheet metal, tubing, screws, nuts, steel wire and jump rings. Use of rolling mill, crimpier and handouts.
Supplies: Please bring jewelers saw, size 2 blades (tin snips), wire snips, chain nose and needle nose pliers, ball peen hammer, anvil
Optional:
dremel drill,
flat metal files,
16 gauge wire (I will have extra),
photograph.
If you want, please bring dimensional objects such as stones, plastics etc. to fit a 2" + 1" space.
