Tired of working small? Feeling boxed in by 8 1/2 x 5 1/2? Want to try something NEW? Well prepare to expand your page horizons! Using my favorite heavy cardstock in BIG sizes, scrumptious handmade/decorative papers, mat board, funky gorgeous fibers and a variety of other mixed media tools you will create the most amazingly unique LARGE journal from scratch. You will cover, bind (an easy but cool looking binding) and create your own gorgeous handmade journal. We will also explore a variety of ideas when it comes to working LARGE and getting over the fear of the "big blank page". Learn NEW techniques to sponge, splatter, swipe, and push/pull your paint onto the page. Learn how to mix and blend mediums and collage ephemera while creating a look that you love. Learn how to express yourself on such a larger than life size page but feel comfortable while doing so. Learn to add color and you won't be afraid to do so after this class...Learn how to be like a kid again and PLAY and to not be afraid to do so. It's nice to step outside the box and "explore" new ground with your art by finding a 'new canvas' to work with every now and then. This is THE class to push your artwork to new, bigger and broader horizons!
Supply List: Scissors, bone folder, cork backed metal ruler, favorite fibers and some beads to hang from spine of book, also small selection of "personal" collage ephemera: color copied photos, scissors, bone folder, permanent black ink pad (like Memories) and a small favorite selection of collage ephemera, 3 1" foam brushes, 3 brushes to paint with and a container to hold water in.
