Prerequisite: Familiararity with the modified Soumak weave

Students will learn the modified Soumak weave, how to add dimension to your design, hammering basics, and a little bit of organic shaping. I will be teaching the weave but suggest that you are familiar with the modified Soumak weave before coming to class. Students may not finish project in class but will leave with the knowledge to complete it at home.

  • round-nose pliers
  • flat-nose pliers
  • wire cutters
  • needle files
  • ring mandrel
  • chasing hammer
  • rawhide mallet
  • bench block
  • painters tape
  • ruler
  • permanent marker
