Take your metal skills to the next level and turn a simple hollow box into an unusual necklace as unique and individual as you are. We'll use patterned and plain sterling silver sheet to construct a hollow form, then add connectors to embellish it with a collection of beads, charms, and textiles. We'll top off our hollow pendant with an intricate leather knot and cording for interest. Along the way, you'll learn some tips on troubleshooting fabrication issues to keep thing simple, and employ a variety of hand finishing techniques to keep the look rustic. This is an intermediate workshop, and students should be comfortable with soldering, use of a jeweler's saw, filing and hand finishing. Students without the requisite experience may not be able to finish their project in class.
